About the Orange County Guitar Circle

What is the Orange County Guitar Circle all about?? The Guitar Circle was founded in 1967 to celebrate and promote the music of the classical guitar in Orange County, California, and surrounding communities.

We offer 9 recitals a year at Chapman University in Orange, on the third Saturday of each month from September to June (except December).  In our Featured Artist Recitals ($15 admission), we host accomplished performers from the Southland and from around the world.  Our Members'Showcase Recitals ($5 admission) give all members of the Guitar Circle a place to perform for a friendly and knowledgeable audience, and our final meeting of each season, the Directors' Showcase ($5 admission), features performance by members of our Board of Directors.

We're a social organization, providing a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy fine music and the company of other music lovers. At our recitals, you'll meet players, teachers, students, and people who just like to listen. Our punch-and-cookies intermissions give everyone a chance to mingle, to laugh and to learn.

What keeps us going? A love of the guitar, to be sure - but that doesn't pay the bills. It's our members who make it possible for us to continue and thrive. Members of the Guitar Circle may attend all 9 recitals free.

Membership is a bargain! For $30, the price of just two Featured Artist Recitals, an individual can attend all 9 recitals! For $40, an entire family can share many evenings of fine music. Full-time students and senior citizens (age 60) can take advantage of our special $20 membership.  You can sign up and renew online, or download the Membership Application form to print out and mail.

We hope you will join the Guitar Circle, and help us to bring the finest guitarists to the Orange County stage. But even more important, we hope you'll continue to attend our recitals. Either way or both ways, you'll be promoting music enjoyment (your own!).
