The OCGC meets at 8:00 PM every 3rd Saturday at Chapman University from September to June, except in December when we are dark.
All concerts are free to members. The cost for non-members is $10 for a Showcase concert, and $20 for a Featured Artist concert, payable at the door.

Marko Topchii was born to a family of musicians in Kiev, Ukraine and started studying guitar at the age of four.
He has studied at the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev under the guidance of Prof. Yuri Alexik, Honored Artist of Ukraine. He completed his master degree in the National University of Arts in Kharkov in 2011, where he studied under Prof. Volodymir Dotsenko, Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Marko has won more than 50 awards in international guitar worldwide. Among them, 26 first places in the competitions in United States, Mexico, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Liechtenstein, Serbia and Ukraine.
Marko plays guitars made by Karl-Heinz Roemmich, Yuichi Imai, Sakurai Kohno and Hong Sik Uhm.
He is a D’Addario artist since 2012.
He actively performs around the world, regularly gives concerts with the orchestra.

Michael Partington is one of the most engaging concert players of his generation. Praised by Classical Guitar Magazine for his “lyricism, intensity and clear technical command,” this award-winning British guitarist has performed to unanimous critical praise. Audiences are put at ease by his charming stage manner and captivated by his interpretations. An innate rhythmic understanding and sense for tonal colour combine to form some of the most memorable phrasing to be heard on the guitar. He has appeared throughout North America, Europe, Russia and Scandinavia as a soloist and with ensembles, and live radio performances include BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, BBC Wales, and St. Paul Sunday on National Public Radio. He has released ten solo CD’s for Rosewood Recordings, and can be heard on the Cadenza and Present Sounds labels. An advocate of new music he has commissioned and premiered works by Stephen Goss, Bryan Johanson, Toshio Hosokawa, Angelo Gilardino, Tom Baker, Kevin Callahan and others. Partington is currently Artist in Residence and director of the guitar program at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has given classes and workshops at festivals and institutions around the world, including the Royal College of Music in London, the Royal Conservatory in Gothenburg, Sweden, the San Francisco Conservatory, the Guitar Foundation of America, the Canadian National Confederation of Music Societies, and the International Guitar Research Centre. His students have won prizes in regional, national and international competitions, and scholarships and awards to study all over the world. Michael Partington is a Savarez Strings artist.

“A complete musician that excels in all range of styles.” (Ernesto Bitetti), Colombian guitarist Carlos Bedoya is a rising concert artist currently pursuing a D.M degree at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music where he also serves as Associate Instructor. Apart from performing, Bedoya also enjoys teaching, collaborating through chamber music, and furthering cultural enrichment through community engagement and volunteering opportunities.

Some of his most significant concert engagements include performances at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Florida State University, Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society, Antioquia Music Fest, the Cape Classical Artist concert series, Uniquindio Guit-Art Festival, and special appearances at the International Clarinet Association, the Cartagena Music Festival, and at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In addition, he has performed as soloist with the Schwob Philharmonic Orchestra, the Northern Lights Music Festival Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ocean City Pops Orchestra, and the Rowan University Orchestra.

As an avid competitor, Bedoya has garnered more than 20 top prizes in national and international competitions including: Chicago Guitar Festival, Art Farm at Serenbe Guitar Competition, Appalachian State Guitar Competition, University of Memphis International Guitar Competition, Sinaloa International Guitar Competition, Hong Kong IFA Guitar Competition, Florida State University Guitar Competition, Southern Guitar Festival, Sarajevo International Guitar Festival, Philadelphia Classical Guitar Competition, amongst others.

Three time Grammy nominee guitarist and composer Douglas Lora transits with versatility through the universes of Classical and Popular Music, and has established himself as one of the most prominent artists of his generation. 

With a wide range of musical possibilities, Douglas has collaborated with renowned artist such as YoYo Ma, Paquito d’Rivera, Assad Brothers, Anat Cohen, Marco Pereira, Jovino Santos Neto, Ney Rosauro, Marina Piccinini, Paulo Bellinati, among others. 

Member of the awarded Brasil Guitar Duo, Trio Brasileiro and Caraivana, Douglas has performed extensively at the most important theaters and concert halls in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. Douglas Lora is the newest member of the awarded Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.

His teaching experiences date from a young age in Brazil and was consolidated in United States as part-time teacher at University of Miami, as well as guitar teacher at Miami Conservatory of Music, from 2004 to 2006. Currently, Douglas is pursuing his Doctoral degree at University of Southern California under Scott Tennant, being the recipient of a Teacher Assistant scholarship. Douglas Lora is the guitar instructor and course coordinator at California State University Fullerton.
